Our Mission

FY2022 Productivity Movement Goals

April 1, 2022

We, the Japan Productivity Center, are positioned this fiscal year, under the Second Mid-term Goals of Productivity Movement ("To Reform Japan and Reboot the Productivity Movement-Entering the Implementation Phase"), to implement practical activities for building a sustainable economic society. We are resolved to promote the movement further by carrying out the following, starting with launch of a new conference body for reform.

1. Activities as the hub platform for productivity

We will deepen discussion on the proposals that were raised in the "White Paper on Productivity" at the Standing Committee on Productivity and, in response to the rapidly changing social, economic and workplace environments, develop new indicators to measure productivity.

2. Promotion of consensus building activities for the reform of socio-economic system of Japan

By launching the new conference body, Reinventing Infrastructure of Wisdom and Action [ReIWA] (June 2022), we will engage in activities to build consensus on issues that were not resolved during the Heisei Era: redesigning governance structure, implementing fiscal reconstruction, rehabilitating the social security system and formulating a concept for national land policy.

3. Re-formulation of Japan's human resource strategies and cultivation of core human resources

We will resume the Karuizawa Top Management Seminar (July 2022) to study the role top management plays in realizing sustainable growth in an era of drastic changes in corporate environment, including accelerated progress of globalization and digitalization.

4. Productivity reform focused on increasing added value and creating a virtuous cycle of growth and distribution

We will hold the Awards Ceremony for the Fourth Nihon Service Awards (Fall 2022) to recognize and disseminate innovative and outstanding services suitable for the post-COVID-19 era, thereby improving and enriching the entire service industry.

5. Enhancement of global alliances

We will hold the Business Leaders Forum on Productivity for managerial leaders of Japan and Germany before the end of this fiscal year, expanding dialogues and interactions, and conducting full-scale joint studies and research focusing on productivity.
