Labor Productivity Statistics |
|
Labor productivity index is generated to indicate changes in physical
labor productivity of mining, manufacturing and non-manufacturing industries.
The term "physical labor productivity" is output per amount of
labor input. The amount of labor input is defined as Man-hour. |
|
1. Data for generating the indices |
The data of output is based on three data of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). As for mining and manufacturing industries, Indices of Industrial Production (IIP) is used. As for non-manufacturing industry, the Indices of Tertiary Industry Activity (ITA) and Indices of All Industry Activity (IAA) is used.
Labor input in each industry is based on Ministry of Health, Labor and
Welfare (MHLW)'s Monthly Labor Survey (establishment with 5 or more employees).
In addition, labor input index is generated on the basis of employment
indices times hours worked indices. |
